Eugenie Boisfontaine was an American woman who was born on August 9, 1949, in Louisiana, USA. She gained notoriety due to being one of the victims in the Baton Rouge serial murders case, which took place between 1999 and 2003.
Boisfontaine was a graduate of Louisiana State University and worked as a librarian at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She was reported missing on May 31, 2002, and her body was found in New Orleans on June 11, 2002.
The Baton Rouge serial murders case involved the killings of at least eight women over four years. Derrick Todd Lee was eventually identified as the perpetrator and was convicted and sentenced to death for the murder of Geralyn DeSoto in 2004. He was also convicted of Boisfontaine's murder in 2007.
Boisfontaine's murder received widespread media attention and was featured in the TV show "Forensic Files" and the book "Murder in Baton Rouge: Analyzing the Evidence".
